The situation is the same in most indian cities. Police says to cross roads at Zebra crossings? Where are they? And even if they are, pedestrians hardly have the priority, as the case is in most countries. In many europian couintries, the traffic halts even if you step in a zebra crossing. In out nation, people will very much run you over. Indians have no civic sense.

Not only the Indian automobile, but even the Indian Roads are far from International standards. I dont know when our government will wakeup to the reality. Thousands of people die every year due to poor safety standards and we waste a lot of precious fuel due to the bad conditions of our roads. Let us wake up and correct ourselves.

It is true that road accidents take a major toll in the country, but how far are we concerned about it.

I have never seen anyone conduct a meeting or a simple gathering in whatever place they are living at or working to tell us about the importance of road safety.

It is upto those who know road safety to tell others and not just blame the authorities.
